Kent's 3/11 Tanka

After the earthquake,
The bus is stuck in traffic,
Roads are packed with cars,
In boredom I peer out the window,
O! The old man I saw two hours ago.

地震の後、
道路は混んで、
動かない。
ふと外を見ると、
さっき見た人。


I saw in awe,
As the power plant exploded on TV,
I couldn’t believe,
That a broken building 200 miles away,
And its invisible rays would change my life.

原発事故、
あいた口が、
ふさがらない
見えない物に、
人生が変わる。


As the building shook,
We ducked under the desk,
And looked at each other,
Hearts pounding and racing,
But we could only smile.

ビルが揺れ、
机の下で、
皆隠れ、
不安の中で、
苦笑いする。


The month of March,
The first time to experience,
Every channel on TV,
Trying to grasp the power,
Extent, and damage of the disaster.
一ヶ月、
何もが初の、
体験だ、
テレビが全部、
地震の残骸。
